League Secretary's Report 29th November 2011
Melton’s teams have hit a good run of form. In the Mixed division 3A three wins in a row see their second mixed team surge ahead of their rivals. In the home match against Longslade, Jane Roberts and Rob Cunniffe helped secure victory for Melton with a maximum three rubbers. Division 3b is dominated by Leys third team and Longslade’s seconds, who have yet to meet. Countesthorpe continue their outstanding run of wins in division 4A and already look favourites for the title.
In the Mens league division 2 victories for both Regal Arts and Central Leicester keep them in second and third spots respectively. In division 3A a closely fought battle between Enderby and Leys saw the visitors edging victory largely due to a maximum from Pete Chapman and Meng Li Leong. Ashby sit proudly at the top of division 3B after a fourth consecutive win. Melton’s seconds won the week’s closest encounter, edging Millenium in division 4A. Neil Adams and Jon Hume remained unbeaten, with the teams separated by only three points.
Loughborough Leys seconds move into second place in division 2 of the Ladies league and into top spot of the Hall league division 2.
In the Schools under 14 league consecutive wins for Ibstock boys puts them top of their region and Crown Hills boys and girls both beat newcomers Judgemeadow. In the under 16 league Guthlaxton girls notch their fourth win, this time at the expense of Leicester High.
